$540 Million MegaMillions Lottery Winner Sold In Indiana State; Powerball Prize Climbs To $311 Million

A lone jackpot-winning ticket in the MegaMillions Lottery was sold in the state of Indiana.

The ticket is the only one that holds all of the winning numbers from Friday’s MegaMillions drawing.  The jackpot total was estimated earlier Friday at $540 million.  The MegaMillions jackpot for Tuesday’s game will be reset at $15 million.

Two players who purchased tickets here in Pennsylvania will both win $10,000 after they matched four of the first five numbers drawn, plus the Megaball number, and had bought their tickets using the Megaplier multiplier option.  Ten others who did not purchase the option will win $5,000 apiece.

The jackpot in the Powerball Lottery, however, will continue to climb.  The annuity value is now estimated at $311 million, and the cash prize is listed at an estimated $221.4 million.

No one claimed the jackpot in Saturday’s $288 million drawing.  The top prizes to be paid out to Powerball tickets sold in Pennsylvania are only worth $300, to be redeemed by twenty-four different buyers.
