Craig Anderson stopped 27 shots, recording his 24th NHL shutout and his second this season, and the Ottawa Senators blanked the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-0 on Monday night in Ottawa, stopping the Pens’ season-high winning streak at seven.

Zack Smith, Bobby Ryan, Erik Karlsson, Kyle Turris and Cory Conacher all scored for Ottawa (15-7-7) in the first meeting between the two teams since last season’s Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The Penguins, who entered the game with the league’s best power play percentage, went 0-for-7 with the man-advantage on Monday.  Pittsburgh goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury (21-9-1) made just 24 saves in 29 opportunities.

Pittsburgh (27-11-1) is idle until Friday night when they visit the Carolina Hurricanes.  The next Penguins contest on 96.3 KQW will come at 5:30 PM on Sunday when the Pens play at Columbus.
