Powerball Lottery officials say the lone jackpot-winning ticket purchased in Wednesday’s Powerball drawing was sold in Lexington, South Carolina.
Previous to the drawing, game officials estimated the cash annuity value of the jackpot at a whopping $400 million. The cash value was listed at $223 million, or about $134 million after taxes. Those numbers will probably be revised sometime today.
One Powerball ticket sold in Pennsylvania contained the first five numbers drawn, but not the all-important Powerball number. That ticket is worth one million dollars. Three other players had tickets with 4 of the 5 numbers, plus the Powerball figure, and which were purchased with the Power Play option. Those tickets are each worth $40,000.
For Saturday’s drawing, the annuity value of the Powerball jackpot has been reset to a “mere” $40 million.
