Tuesday (Feb. 19) marks the first day in which aspiring candidates for Pennsylvania’s 2013 municipal elections may begin circulating and filing nominating petitions.
The state’s primary elections will be held on May 21, and the municipal elections are scheduled for November 5.
Petitioners may circulate signature sheets through March 12, and March 27 is listed as the last day in which a candidate may withdraw.
Voters looking ahead to the primaries are reminded that April 22 is the last date to register to vote on that day. Applications for absentee ballots may be made through May 14, and must be received by the County Board of Elections by May 17.
