Some twenty people found themselves stranded on Saturday night, some for nearly five hours, on the famous Blue Streak roller coaster at Conneaut Lake Park.
All riders were brought down safely and without injury.
Park officials say the problem, which occurred around 9:00 PM, was due to a portion of one coaster car’s braking system becoming dislodged and jamming into the ride’s rails. Firefighters rescued some riders from heights of some fifty feet.
The ride would not have been used again until this Friday when it resumes its role as an attraction in Conneaut Lake’s special Halloween program. It will undergo an inspection in the meantime.
